A new National Park has appeared in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on expanding the network of protected natural areas, preserving biodiversity, rational use of natural resources and development of ecotourism.

According to the document signed by the head of state, the National Park of Gizilagaj was established in Azerbaijan. The total area of ​​the National Park is 99,000 hectares.

This territory includes lands belonging to the State Small Game Reserve of Maly Gizilagaj (10 thousand 390 hectares), the territory of the State Reserve Fund (309 hectares) and the base of the Gizilagaj State Nature Reserve (88 thousand 360 hectares) located in Neftchala.
